How We’ll Work Together: A Guide to Choosing Your Doula Pack

Initial Orientation Session (Free)

  • I meet with you virtually via Zoom or doxy.me
  • During this session, we discuss the services I offer, areas of support, your expectations, and answer any questions.
  • Lenght: 30 minutes

What the session covers:

  • Support during pregnancy
  • Physical and emotional support during labor
  • Relaxation techniques and non-medical pain management
  • Guidance for informed decision-making
  • Assistance with communication with medical staff
  • Breastfeeding support
  • Other services tailored to your needs

Understanding Your Needs and Preferences

  • I take the time to understand your goals, preferences, and specific needs.
  • We review your medical history, birth expectations, and postpartum needs.

Creating Your Personalized Support Plan

  • Together, we develop a plan tailored to your wishes and needs during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Questions and Clarifications

  • Any questions about my role, the birth process, costs, or other important aspects are answered.

Service Agreement and Logistics

Once you’re comfortable with the plan, we finalize:

  • Fees and scheduling
  • Availability for meetings
  • Signing a contract outlining the services provided

After the Initial Orientation

1. Reflection and Decision-Making

  • You can take some time to consider whether you’d like to move forward with my services.

2. Confirmation of Services

  • Confirm your decision via email, message, or phone call.
  • Sign the contract and finalize fees, payment terms, and services.

3. Planning Ongoing Support

  • Schedule meetings and set expectations for birth and postpartum.
  • Create a personalized support plan.

4. Continuous Communication

  • I remain available for questions, emotional support, and guidance before birth.
  • Communication can be via email, messages, or calls as needed.

5. Support During Birth and Postpartum

  • I provide support during labor.
  • Depending on your agreement, I can also provide:
    • Postpartum support
    • Breastfeeding assistance
    • Follow-up after birth

Important Note

The process described is flexible and may vary slightly, especially for sessions under medical insurance, such as Medicaid, where the service agreement does not involve any cost for the mom

.

If you are already certain you want to hire my services and prefer to skip the initial orientation or other steps, this is completely possible, though the orientation is always recommended. This guide is standard or suggested and can be adapted to your individual needs.
